Thought I would try to generate greater awareness about lesser known folks plying their trade in SG, because I think some of them are pretty awesome.
1. Rida Video Centre @ 587 Bukit Timah Road, Coronation Plaza #02-17, Singapore 269707

Probably one of the last standing video stores on the island (after big players including HMV, Tower Records and Sembawang Music shuttered in the past 2 decades) to still feature a large assortment of DVD/ Blu ray titles imported from the US and Canada. Deals mainly in rental services, although it does sell some of its inventory on occasion. Chinese, Korean, Japanese, French and Hindi films are also available. Run by very friendly staff, in particular an old lady going by the name of Laura (who btw is an extremely knowledgeable movie buff) and a Miss Geraldine.
Typically open from 9.30am-8.30pm daily.

Here's another long surviving video store located inside Da You Departmental Store @ Chinatown:
Spa owners dismayed over new restrictions on opening hours
From March 1, massage parlours with CaseTrust accreditation or which conduct their services in plain view will have their operating hours restricted from 7am to 10.30pm. Those without the accreditation will be able to operate only between 10am and 10.30pm.
Mr Alvin Tee, one of the owners of the 24-hour The White Spa in Selegie Road, said he has appealed to the police. Most of its customers come in after 10pm. The business is CaseTrust-accredited, and has just renewed its two-year tenancy contract with the landlord and is currently in the process of renewing its massage licence.

The masseuses come from China and Malaysia?
The massage therapists look not bad!
2. The White Spa @ 167 Selegie Rd, Singapore 188321
This is one awesome place to get a real professional, no nonsense hard massage. You are assigned a spacious cubicle which comes with a separate shower stall; clean towels and a pair of shorts are provided. Yours sincerely opted for the 60 min full body rubdown, and the masseuse really helped sort out those knotted muscles from head to toe. Be respectful to the folks working there, and you will have a great time.
Note: No hanky-panky permitted on the premises-this is a clean spa fyi.
Damage: $60 for a 60 min session or $90 for a 90 min session, although a promotion is taking place at the moment ($50 for 60 min or $75 for 90 min; further discount is given to clients who patronize the place past midnight). SUPER WORTH IT!!!!!!!!
The White Spa is open 24 hrs a day from Mon-Sat.

Hi, I feel this social enterprise My NoNNa’s which hires intellectually disabled individuals to work in its various food stalls in school canteens deserves a mention:
