Update: I just called up OCBC, apparently they said the SMS in question was legitimate but had been mistakenly dispatched to a handful of customers including moi. Anyways they will send a follow-up message to clear the air, so yeah false alarm altogether
I strongly recommend that TS immediately scan his phone for malware, and only log into internet banking on a separate device, preferably a laptop till this is resolved
I suggest you call up OCBC to clarify matters ASAP for a peace of mind.
"As the scammers had spoofed the bank's SMS accounts, the scammers' message might appear in the same SMS conversation thread as a bona fide SMS message from the bank," said the police.

In this day and time, assume everything is a scam until proven otherwise. It's better to be safe than sorry.
Might TS share the amount that was supposedly wrongly credited into his account?
Unless the bank subsequently sends an official notification letter through mail, I'd say the above sms is probably fake
