The chain restaurant, co-founded by veteran American country superstar Kenny Rogers, is best known for their chicken dishes and corn muffins.
........... when it first announced its closure, the American eatery received an outpouring of support on their social media from dedicated patrons dismayed by the news.
Thankfully, it will not be long before diners get to partake of its crisp drumsticks and innumerable sides.
[Updated 15th April 2019] Okay, I feel so cheated. (How about those who went to queue up for an hour or more?)
in a rather fast U-turn, it appears that Kenny Rogers Roasters Singapore IS coming back.
The last standing Kenny Rogers Roasters outlet in Singapore at Great World City, initially announced “closure” on the 14th of April (Sun).
Barely a day after that, I found out that they will re-emerge with a new fast-casual concept, and there is intention to go Halal under the revamped branding.
The franchise right has been taken over by Lao Huo Tang Group of Companies. (Will we see Edmund Chen posing with chicken in time to come?)
Last two days before KR goes six feet under. Meanwhile dense Sinkies are thoroughly obsessed with A&W's return at Jewel, too bad KR probably ain't gonna receive much love in its final moments.
Not feeling any pity for KR's demise, no love lost. Quality of their chickens served have been dropping since the early 2000s, not to mention them muffins tasted like baked vomit. Its astonishing they could actually last this long.
So it's completely game over for KR in Singapore? Remembered they had branches at Century Square and Novena Square, but those have since shuttered if I remembered correctly.
No hurry there Kenny Rogers, you can take 16 years to reopen like A&W did.

First it was Sizzler's, then Tony Roma's (which closed its remaining restaurants on 1 Feb this year) ..... now Kenny Rogers.
