HE WAS one of the world’s worst serial killers and now, one of Hollywood’s biggest dreamboats is set to play Ted Bundy.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zac Efron has signed on to play the notorious serial killer in an upcoming movie called Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.

The movie will be shot from Elizabeth Kloepfer’s perspective, Bundy’s longtime girlfriend.

Kloepfer denied the accusations against Bundy for years, but was eventually the one who turned him into the police.

Efron shot to fame for his starring role in the cheesy Disney franchise High School Musical and has since stuck predominantly to comedic films.

Despite Efron’s reputation as a comedic actor, Michael Costigan, who will produce the movie, told Deadline Efron is perfect for the part.

“Zack is perfect casting, as he can play both the depth and the charm that this guy had in equal measures, and which allowed him to manipulate these women in such a terrifying way. We think in the vein of Nightcrawler or even The Jinx, we are making a psychological thriller that will resonate deeply with audiences.”

Theodore ‘Ted’ Bundy became known as one of the world’s most notorious serial killers after he confessed to killing more than 30 women throughout the 1970s.

He managed to escape from prison twice, killing three more people while free, but was ultimately captured in Florida in 1978.

Bundy was executed by electric chair in 1989 after confessing to killing 30 women however most authorities who worked on the case believe there’s more victims.

The movie will be directed by Joe Berlinger, best known for his documentary film series Paradise Lost.

Efron will play Bundy off the back of the Baywatch remake, which he starred in with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
