The Land Transport Authority has called out The Straits Times for publishing fake news.
This was after Stomp published a July 3, 2017, article about a supposed Light Rail Transit collision on the Sengkang LRT Line towards Renjong station involving two trains.
The accident was reported to have occurred at around 7pm on Monday.
The ST report was published on the same evening at 11.37pm.
However, it turns out there was no accident.
LTA clarified that “the article is erroneous and misleading”, referring to ST’s report.
LTA and SBS Transit said the two Light Rail Vehicles were travelling as one train on the system and stalled suddenly.
