Current boss who plans to fire me forced me to reveal identity of my new employer

I currently work part-time at an education company; owing to personal circumstances I was unable to commit on a full-time basis - this which I believe underpins a foregone but not yet announced management decision that I shall be dismissed in the coming weeks.

The boss himself has since quizzed me face-to-face in an attempt to solicit details regarding where I am headed next, doing so threateningly whilst indirectly implying my compliance with his requests for information would help shield both me as well as the company from potential legal ramifications. For context, the outfit I am slated to join is a fellow competitor within the same industry.

Despite being prodded time and again, I steadfastly refused divulging the name of my new employer. Consequently he used outright intimidation tactics, "warning" I might be in breach of the non-compete clause stipulated by my prior signed contract should I hop over to a competitor company mere months after leaving here. Nevertheless, I have tendered my resignation letter - call it preempting things if you will.

Now I can only pray hard there's no just cause for my ass getting sued off.
